As from April 2013 BS7036(1996) has been superseded by BS EN16005:2012. The new standard is not retrospective therefore automatic doors installed before April 2013 can still be serviced to BS7036(1996).

All new installations by SMDS are installed to BS EN16005:2012. Please contact us if you require any information on the new standard or on bringing your existing doors inline with BS EN16005:2012.

Sectional doors come in many shapes and sizes. Here at SMDS Door Services we have years of experience of sectional door repairs and Installation. We are able to offer a fast and efficient Sectional door Repairs and Installation service in commercial premises throughout Worcestershire, Gloucestershire The West Midlands and Midlands.

The door is made from 600mm deep x 40mm thick individual insulated panels; each panel is fitted with a roller carrier and roller which run inside galvanised steel tracks. Springs are fitted above the door to aid in its smooth and quiet operation. The door is powered through a three phase direct drive motor and is operated via a low level control panel or push button station. The motor is fitted with a manual haul chain so that the door can still be operated in the event of a power failure. Safety brakes should be fitted to the bottom edges of the door with a safety edge and/or safety beams fitted if the door is required to lower from a single impulse of the control panel. Door panels come in a variety of colours and finishes.
